Join Bloom

Come growwith us.

Bloom is a boutique outpatient psychiatric practice in East Nashville, rooted in women’s health. Women’s mental health is our specialty. We are building a small team of clinicians who share that interest and practice the way we do, and we precept the psychiatric nurse practitioner students who will come next.

Dr. Lauren Hansen and Mary Lauren Mitzelfeld
Our vision

Where we are headed.

Bloom Psychiatry envisions being the trusted destination for women’s mental health, providing expert, evidence-based medication management that helps patients achieve lasting stability, balance and well-being, because every patient deserves to bloom into their best.

Bloom has cared for patients in Nashville since 2017, built entirely on referrals and word of mouth. We grew because of how we practice: unhurried evaluations, careful diagnosis, honest education and follow-up that actually follows up.

For clinicians

Practicing at Bloom

Time to do the work well

Sixty-minute evaluations and 30-minute follow-ups, in person in East Nashville or by telehealth.

A clinical lens worth learning

Reproductive and hormonal context across the female lifespan, diagnostic clarification and thoughtful medication decisions, with a colleague to think it through with.

Room to grow

Mary Lauren was once Dr. Hansen’s student. Mentorship is not an afterthought here; it is how the practice was built.

What we look for

The kind of clinician who fits here.

  • Board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP-BC), or board-eligible and finishing soon
  • Licensed, or eligible for licensure, as an APRN in Tennessee
  • Holds, or is eligible for, a DEA registration
  • Committed to evidence-based practice and careful diagnostic reasoning
  • Warm, direct and comfortable explaining your thinking to patients
  • A real interest in women’s mental health; it is the heart of this practice and what our patients come to us for

Interested? Email your CV and a short note about how you like to practice to info@bloompsychiatrytn.com. We read every one, and we will tell you either way.

For PMHNP students

Precepting the next psychiatric providers.

Dr. Hansen precepts psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner students. It is how she met Mary Lauren, and it is some of the most rewarding work she does.

What you will see

Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic clarification and ongoing medication management, with patients across the lifespan.

The women’s health lens

Perinatal mental health, premenstrual and postpartum mood symptoms, perimenopause and hormone therapy: clinical territory most students never get to see.

How you will learn

You will present, we will think out loud together, and you will leave understanding not just what we chose but why.

What we ask

Professionalism with our patients and staff, preparation before clinic, and a signed affiliation agreement between your school and Bloom before your first day.

Requesting a rotation

How to ask about precepting.

We take a limited number of students each term, so reach out at least one semester ahead.

Email info@bloompsychiatrytn.com with:

  • The term and the number of clinical hours you need
  • The course or population your school requires for that rotation
